It May Be Time To Exercise A Little More And Eat A Little Less Sugar…..
By Neil O’Hanlon
Hey folks, just a brief blog regarding this phenomenon. I don’t mean to alarm you but it may be time to think about putting that snickers bar and can of rola cola down for just a minute. We all know that too much sugar is bad for our health, but the fact that it causes premature ageing is quite concerning. Too much glucose and sugar ingested over the years is known as a process called Glycation.
What Is Glycation
Ok, so glycation is where all the excess glucose that has nowhere to go and can’t be pushed into the cells because over the years you have become so insulin resistant, gets globbed onto to the red blood cells. The red blood cells job is to carry oxygen through the body. If you create this glycation and gumming of glucose molecules on the red blood cells, you will now recieve much less oxygen to every part of your body including your brain. What this means long term is that you’re going to age a hell of a lot faster, wrinkles, bags under the eyes, rashes are all part of the glycation end result. However even more concerning is that glycation causes us to be more prone to diseases like Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Memory loss and Diabetes. This is all a result of excess sugar and glucose with nowhere to go.
